The Company and team:

Our client is a Melbourne-based high-growth startup, profiled by international press as a significant disruptor of a traditional industry. Their platform is adopted by many of the World's leading brands and supports over 50% of Australia's top 100 companies. With its rapid growth and international expansion, they are now looking for a Head of Engineering to lead their technology roadmap, scale the engineering team and shape a culture that will ensure operational success of the business.

What's your role?

• Lead technical vision, architecture and ongoing delivery of SaaS platform
• Operational backbone of technology products at a global enterprise level
• Integral leader in the rapid expansion of the engineering team

Exciting challenges you'll be tackling:

• Owning the technical and operational roadmap of the infrastructure, security, development and delivery of the business' products
• Working closely with product team and executive management, translating strategic thinking into actionable goals
• Scale the engineering team, to double headcount in 12 months
• Drive and implement engineering best practices e.g. CI/CD, automated testing
• Creating an engineering culture based on empowerment, collaboration, quality and speed of delivery

Who we're looking for:

• Strong executive stakeholder management and senior leadership skills, able to communicate the ideas of engineering team in the right way
• Experience working for a product-focused business with a customer centric approach, ideally serving a function within an enterprise environment
• Strong technical background and understanding of software development practices
• Experience scaling, coaching and managing a high performing team, including managing managers
• Demonstrated success in delivery of well-architected and scalable infrastructure, with a focus on security
• Experience across mobile and web technologies
