My client is one of the UK's fastest-growing technology businesses, and is disrupting the $600bn global money transfer industry. Backed by Accel Partners and Technology Crossover Ventures, two of the world's leading technology investors and launching in 2010, my client is today a leading digital money transfer service. Revenues have grown from £15m in 2014, to £27m in 2015 and are annualising £42m for 2016. It is currently processing more than 500,000 transfers a month (as of November 2016), an increase of 25% over the preceeding two months. This is forecast to grow to 4m in the next several years in line with the World Bank's forecasts for a predicted six-fold growth in the mobile money transfer industry. Currently valued at in excess of $500m, my client is one of Europe's leading FinTechs and has won numerous awards over the past seven years.
We are looking to hire a "Marketing Manager - Australia" for the business, as my client begins to build out their APAC presence. You will be the first marketing hire within Australia (the global marketing team is currently approx. 30 people), and play an integral part within their APAC team that currently sits at six people, across compliance and legal. This is a full-time permanent role, that we are looking to fill by early October latest.
This role would suit a hands-on marketer, who is excellent and make things happen, and getting work done. The role will initially have a stronger offline focus - across branding, communication, PR, events, radio, TV and content, for example. My client has a very strong community focus to their customers, and we require you to build up trust and transparency with their customers. While there will be some strategy /conceptual work involved, we don't require this candidate to be a big picture strategic thinker at this stage. We require you to be digital savvy, but not to be heavily experienced with digital/performance marketing. Experience with digital marketing campaigns would be good, but not essential to be successful in this role.
The role requires the candidate who has strong experience within both B2B and B2C markets. There will be no micromanagement in this role. This person will come up with a plan, and execute 80-90% of the work. You will have resources to pull on from my client's London office.
Experience with experiential marketing would be highly regarded, within a digital/marketing agency for example.
Without sounding negative, this role would not suit a CMO/Marketing Director candidate, or a tech focused SaaS marketer either.
We require you to be resourceful, trustworthy and organized. To use your initiative to solve problems when the solution isn't immediately in front of you. To be fully invested and really believe in my client's product. To be smart and resourceful with the marketing budget, not simply throw money at something, and hope it works! My client has a no ego policy. We expect you to be collaborative and listen to other people's point of view, to produce an outcome that everyone is on board with.
